Hillside now has a Little Free Library! Little Free Libraries are places for communities to come together to celebrate and encourage reading.  The purpose of these libraries is to take any book you are interested in, and then bring a book back. Hillside Variety Show

The Hillside Variety Show is planned for January 26th at Westside Middle School starting at 6:00 pm until all acts are over (around 8:00 pm.). Auditions will be at Hillside on January 16th, 17th, and 18th after school from 3:45 until about 4:30 p.m. Acts should last 2 minutes or less. Nebraska Robotics Expo

The Nebraska Robotics Expo (http://neroboticsexpo.unl.edu/) will be held on Saturday, Feb. 17 at Strategic Air Command & Aerospace Museum. This is a great way to expose students of all ages to STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, Math) concepts. Children’s Behavioral Health Presentations

We would like to continue to remind you of a valuable collaboration in place between Westside Community Schools and Children’s Behavioral Health at Children’s Hospital & Medical Center. This partnership allows us to address the mental health needs of our children and families districtwide. The services offered through the Student Assistance Program include free assessments and short-term counseling, where students and their parents are invited to complete two free face-to-face sessions. A Geography Bee took place at Hillside Elementary on December 5th, and 5th grader Luke Starlin was the winner! The Hillside Bee was the first round in the 30th annual National Geographic Bee, a geography competition designed to inspire and reward students’ curiosity about the world. Master Todd visits Hillside

Master Tomas Todd from Midwest Tae Kwon Do visited Hillside’s second, third, and fourth grades this past Monday to talk about respect and focus.
